Disable or Enable HTTPS Checking

By default this feature is turned ON (unchecked) so that if the system encounters a http version of a URL it will automatically check for an https version. If we find an https version we will remove the http and replace it with the https.

When should this be enabled?

You should check this box when you have a site(s) in your portfolio that is still http and/or a site where there is a mix of http URL’s that are NOT redirecting to https. This will ensure we do not check these and not have unnecessary server requests.

When should this be disabled?

It is best to leave this as the default setting as a double check

  • If your site has both http and https versions of URL’s and you are not using redirects you should use this to ensure we are submitting the https version in your XML site maps.
  • If you are not sure of the quality of your source files and there is a chance that there are http versions of the URL’s present.

Note: if you believe you may have a lot of http URL’s that need to be checked you should whitelist HREFLang Builder so we can test the pages.
